Adel Community

Why Adel?

Adel is a small suburban community thirty minutes west of Des Moines, the capital of Iowa. A major benefit of Adel is its proximity to the larger amenities of larger communies and many of the most popular destinations in Iowa.

The city and its surrounding community offer a strong, dedicated workforce where people are honest, hard-working, and motivated. Adel enjoys a rare family-like community with all of its 3,500 residents. In addition, Adel is an extremely safe community with a strong police force that keeps the crime rate one of the lowest in the state.

Adel is the oldest community in Dallas County, and the first to have a road to carry gold-seekers west. We still only have one stoplight, but that will change soon! Adel is the County Seat of what is currently the 10th fastest growing county in the United States. Located in the heartland of Iowa, Adel is only a half hour's drive to Des Moines, with easy access to Interstate I-80 and I-35. Adel is business friendly, with a tax rate of only 40 cents per $1,000 of assessed property value.

Visit Adel and experience the local hometown character, the historic landmarks, and peaceful scenery. Adel is unlike any other small community. The people are friendly, happy citizens that are truly proud to live and work here.
